Appeal from Barajuri, Ghatsila Ashram

Barajuri unit of Bharat Sevashram Sangha is a 32-years-old Tribal Welfare centre under Ghatsila Block in East Singhbhum district of Jharkhand, India. It is nestled in the remote and peaceful forested lap of mother nature surrounded by the hills of Chhotnagpur plateau.

Spread across 26 acres of lush green area on the bank of a hilly river Kharasroti, Barajuri Ashram houses two residential schools for Tribal girls and boys, a makeshift prayer hall, a small Yatri Nivas for the visiting devotees, well wishers and disciples, an allopathic OPD, a mobile medical unit, two serene water bodies, a mango orchard, other fruit bearing trees and agriculture land etc.

  • The Girls Residential School for the tribal children is running satisfactorily given the overall availability of facilities at present. To upgrade and uplift the education of this backward community, we wish to upgrade the school till Senior Secondary level in a phased manner. To materialise this plan, 2nd floor construction in this existing building will be required for their classroom and residence facilities.
  • The Dining Space measuring 100 feet x 40 feet along with a suitable Kitchen adjacent to it is required to be reconstructed as this portion is in a very dilapidated state. It will cost around Rs. 80 lakh.
  • There is a dire need of a Temple and Prayer Hall for 300 persons’ capacity for the spiritual cause.
  • The Yatri Nivas is very small and not furnished with modern amenities. A new building is required with at least 20 rooms and a dormitory.
  • Sant Nivas having Asbestos roofing is very hot in summer. The monks have to spend nights outside the makeshift temple corridor. Accommodation of both reident monks and visiting monks from different centres of Sangha. Thus a fairly big Sant Nivas is being felt to house the resident monks and guest monks.

With the above facts and figures , it is our humble appeal to all like-minded people, noble-hearted devotees, well-wishers, disciples, patrons, corporate bodies to please come forward and support us through financial assistance and professional expertise and volunteering in our continuous efforts towards mainstreaming the marginalised and neglected people of the society.

For the past three decades we have been serving these marginalised people but we need a collective effort to go a long way to reach all those who need support and touch the target.

Yours in the Service of the Lord.
